REMEDIAL MASSAGE THERAPY
If you want your best body to be work, sport or life ready, then come in and see one of Empower Physiotherapy’s experienced Remedial Massage Therapists
Remedial massage plays a key role in the Empower team’s approach to helping our clients get more out of life. Our Remedial Massage Therapists work closely alongside our Physiotherapists to combine the most up to date and evidence based approach with the timeless techniques and modalities that massage therapy has come to encompass.
At its core, Remedial Massage Therapy relates to the use of traditional massage techniques in the pursuit of optimal health and wellbeing. Massage can assist in relieving every-day aches and pains, can help you manage stress and anxiety, and has clear benefit in assisting recovery from many of the injuries that Empower clients present to the clinic with: tension headaches, migraines, knee pain, shoulder pain, neck and back pain, and post-operative rehabilitation.
With a holistic and patient centred approach, our Remedial Massage Therapists have access to a wide range of techniques and modalities to ensure that you can receive precisely the sort of treatment you currently need. Though our focus begins with traditional Swedish soft tissue massage techniques, our therapists also utilise Sports Massage, Deep Tissue Massage, Trigger Point Therapy, Hot Stone Massage, Lymphoedema Massage, and Cupping Techniques.
The Empower Remedial Massage Difference
Unlike many massage services on offer throughout the world, the Empower team are committed to providing our valued clients with the most beneficial (and enjoyable!) massage possible, without confusing you with potentially dangerous pseudoscientific information that apart from being incorrect, has been shown to perpetuate many musculoskeletal conditions.
Instead, you can expect to experience:
- An in depth discussion, where we listen to your current concerns, and ask what goals you hope we can help you achieve
- A physical examination to assist us in identifying underlying pathology, injury, or impairments
- Using easy to understand, every-day language, we will explain your likely diagnosis based on an up to date understanding of anatomy, physiology, and the important role of the nervous system in optimal health
- Our team based approach means that if we believe that your condition requires additional input, we will step out of the massage room to ask one of our friendly Physiotherapists to pop in for a chat before we commence treatment
- Together – we will then discuss with you exactly what sort of massage therapy best suits you at this time
